A few things this week:

firstly, a couple of gadgets spotted on The Gadget Show - a phone that fits on your finger and you ear it when you put your finger in your ear, and a disposable camcorder. I'm not sure about the phone, yet, but the camcorder could be interesting. They cost about £17 and you take them to a chemist to get 'developed', like in the olden days with camera films. Surely students could be armed with these for range of learning, teaching and assessment activities. Only drawback would be.... limited amount of recording time

secondly, we are gonna be looking at the perplexity game in more detail. A set of cards has been ordered and should be arriving soon

thirdly, next week's team meeting is about horizon scanning..... so should provide items to be posted here.......

lastly, I've got the latest Stuff magazine to look at

Excellent feedback

My team have had some excellent feedback today from some work we started some time ago. In place of this, teachers would pick a pupil to answer their questions. If the pupil didn't want to answer or was stuck, they could 'phone a friend' (ask in the class) to help them out. It was interesting - and raises points about student interaction and engagement in group sessions. It is clear that teachers are still thinking about ways to engage and involve pupils/students.

DVD board games are popular at the moment, and there is a pop quiz game for PlayStation 2 called Buzz that allows 4 people to use buzzers to show that they want to answer a question.
